The Athenaeum

About The Athenaeum

The Athenaeum was established in 2003 and soon began to host a wide variety of cultural programs and social events. Programs include concerts, seminars, and tastings at which guests can enjoy classical music, literature, art, engaging discussions, and fine cuisine in an elegantly restored Gilded-Age mansion, the Winthrop Estate.

Jamie and Ethan Berg conceived the idea for the Lenox Athenaeum after moving to the Berkshires from Harvard Square, Cambridge, where they loved the intense intellectual stimulation of the university community and the beautiful concerts at Memorial Hall. They invite you to join them in their pursuits.
