Our upper garden now has fully mulched walkways! Yay. It's important that the vegetables have aerated, non-compacted dirt to explore with their roots, so we need to walk between the beds, not in and around where the plants grow. So we will walk on these wood chip walk ways. We will remove the tarps next and aerate the soil with a broadfork but not turn or till it, and then add some compost, and then we will have beds that are slightly raised up, or mounded with yummy soil, for the next step, the very exciting, planting of our baby plants or seeds!
