Spring Onions

Folding at my knees, I'm sitting on my heels and the green of this onion comes up to my forehead. I could tell you in inches, but it's more fun walking through the rows of vegetables feeling like I'm in a wonderland where the vegetables are larger than life. We put these in as tiny plants, as if they were decorations in a doll house, and we harvested a small basket of spring onions today. We took up the ones whose greens had fallen over. They won't grow much more. I'm chopping the greens and freezing them, and the onions will be devoured pretty soon as I can use them in almost any meal.
