Pears

I'm not counting them until the harvest, but I'm very optimistic we will have more than 50 pears this year. Last year, with the weather and animals and distractions, I am not sure we got even 50. This year we are paying attention. We are protecting the tree trunks, making sure they get water, and talking to them every week or so (yes, actually I am).

I think we planted one or two of these trees a little too much in the shade. We have two that are not bearing any fruit. Hum. Should have talked to the arborist, not the stylist, at planting time a few years ago!
