Not long ago, about 10 days actually, we sprinkled some lovely calendula seeds along the edges of the upper garden. You can see a seed in focus in this picture of mud just above center. It looks like a curved hairy little thing, a bit creamy yellow in color.
And then, whoomph!, just yesterday these cute little green baby leaves were coming up all around the edged of the garden! So happy to see our new flowers starting! I hope they will be attracting our pollinators in no time (ok, I realize 'no time' is totally impossible in the world of gardening, but sometimes that is how it feels as time flies by :-) ).
