Muddy Boots

Two weeks from when we officially started farming (more on that in a different blog), I finally got to get my boots dirty!

We squished and squashed around for a few hours in the light rain, or on the just-rained-on mud, or in the it's-about-to-rain field, or in the puddles and pits of thick, heavy clay and mud.

I was not tired or cold when I came in with wet socks and soggy garden gloves. I was excited that the farm is starting. The area is starting to be physically changed!

Today the fence posts went in. Here's the first one. These are 8' above the ground and 4' below. They will hold up deer fence and rabbit fence. We cut this wood from the property to make the posts.
